Emmanuel Macron will be the next President of France. Macron, an independent from the Centrist Party, defeated the far-right National Front candidate Marine Le Pen by a significant margin in the election that took place on Sunday. Nations around the world followed this election closely to see whether France would follow the populist movement that has brought both the Brexit and Donald Trump to the forefront of western politics.

North Korea Detains U.S. Citizen

North Korea has detained Kim Hak-song on suspicion of "hostile acts" against the regime, bringing the total number of U.S. citizens detained by the North Korean government to four. North Korea has a history of detaining U.S. citizens as a defense against hostile actions by the United States government and the move comes amid growing tensions between the two countries.

Minaj Pays for College

Nicki Minaj put her money where her tweets were over the weekend. She reached out via the social media app and showed students the money, specifically for college tuition, student loans, books and other supplies. 

"Show me straight A's that I can verify w/ur school and I'll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!?!," she wrote Saturday night. "Dead serious. Shld I set it up?"
