Trump invites Duterte to White House 

Surprising both his staff and politicians on both sides of the aisle, President Trump has invited President Rodrigo Duterte, the controversial, authoritarian leader of the Philippines to visit the White House. Mr. Duterte has been accused of ordering extrajudicial killings of drug suspects in the Philippines and has made derogatory and offensive comments about women,  the Pope, and former President Barack Obama.

Berkeley Blocks Coulter and Free Speech

Controversy has erupted over the cancelled speech of conservative author Anne Coulter at the University of California at Berkeley. Lawsuits were filed in the U.S. District Court of Northern California on behalf of two student organizations which claim that the university is infringing on the free speech of the universities conservative groups. Attorney Harmeet Dhillon, a Republican National Committee member representing the student groups said "The students have a right to hear different voices on campus. They have a right to invite speakers we have a right to hear."
