Monday, April 10th, the Yankees opened up the season at Yankee Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees had been off to a bad start but have shown that they can come back during their 7-3 win against the Orioles by scoring 4 in the top of the ninth; Chapman came in for the save.  The Yankees got off to a good start yesterday as  Michael Pineda was flirting with a perfect game but gave it up in the top of the 7th to Evan Longoria.  Pineda finished the day with 11 strikeouts, 2 hits, 1 earned run, and 0 walks, he just destroyed the Rays yesterday.   Big bats for the Yankees offense included Chase Headley, Starlin Castro,  and baby bomber Aaron Judge , they all hit homers in the Yankees powerful opening day win!  

Injury report:

The Yankees already have had some headaches with injuries.  Gary Sanchez is out 4 weeks with a strained bicep and before that Didi Powerhouse Gregorius got injured while playing in the World Baseball Classic.
