BOMBOGENESIS HITS CALIFORNIA

The state of California is currently experiencing what could become its strongest storm in decades, a weather pattern experts call Bombogenesis, or “weather bomb”. As of Sunday, hundreds of homes in the Los Angeles area had been evacuated due to mudslide risks, power loss had struck over 150,000 residences, and sinkholes in major roads had swallowed dozens of cars. By Monday morning, five deaths were been confirmed. The storm is now said to be easing in Southern California and heading north towards the San Francisco area. Further north lies Oroville Dam, the nation’s tallest water retention and reservoir structure; due to flooding risks at Oroville, over 180,000 nearby residents have been evacuated. Forecast analytics group WeatherBell is currently reporting that up to 10 trillion gallons of rain will fall across the state throughout the next week. The storm is described by WeatherBell as an intense “extra-tropical cyclonic low-pressure” area.

SPACEX LAUNCH SUCCESSFUL
