On Tuesday night, outgoing President Barack Obama delivered his farewell address to America from his hometown of Chicago. As has become his process for designing major addresses, Obama first wrote his own speech, then dictated it to his chief speechwriter Cody Keenan who composed an initial draft. While this process has typically been an easy one, CNN reports that Obama and Keenan went through four heavily edited drafts in shaping the farewell address. No surprise however—considering the unprecedented political scenario currently unfolding in Washington, this was no typical goodbye speech.
