Don't Let Your Data Define You!

We got a chance to visit The Glass Room, an NYC pop-up exhibit that demonstrated how the personal data we hand over when purchasing products has now become a product itself. Assembled in NYC’s Nolita district by Tactical Technology Collective, the art show/societal study also provided an eye-opening real time look at the legal customer surveillance constantly performed by huge companies. Add a little paranoia to the equation and it can all become a bit overwhelming, but curators Stephanie Hankey and Marek Tuszynski insist the exhibit wasn't meant to incite fear, but rather to present “a fun and accessible way” to observe “how technology changes social interactions in our society.”
