Standing Rock Fight Over...For Now.

After weeks of public controversy and protest, the US Army Corps of Engineers has suspended the Dakota Access Pipeline permit for further route review and impact evaluation. The pipeline, which was set to run more than 1,000 miles from North Dakota to Illinois, has been vehemently opposed by the Rock Sioux Tribe, who maintain the project will compromise sacred lands, as well as bear negative economic and environmental consequences for its people.
