Harvard's Meme Problem

Jokes about child abuse, sexual assault, racial discrimination and genocide aren’t what you would typically expect from a prestigious school like Harvard. Apparently, no one told some of the incoming freshmen about basic human decency. Ten members of the Facebook group “Harvard memes for horny bourgeois teens” incorporated those horrific topics into the Facebook group discussion, which lead to their admission being rescinded to the University.

Regardless of intentions, it's clear that a single social media post could turn out to have a lasting impact on a student’s future. This is a common problem for today’s social media obsessed youth. Teens are constantly making “fake” social media accounts in an effort to post undetected viral content. Despite these fake accounts, it’s good to remember that if it’s online, it’s possible to be discovered. Something to think about when pondering that next post.
